CAN Typical Price?

Hey,

This is my first post, but I've read a heck of a lot in here. Even learned how to rid myself of a rough idle by reading posts in this forum.

However, this post is directed towards something I want to do with my truck, yet can't believe the price. I was reading a thread about Superlift vs. Skyjacker where 91EXNM listed what he was getting and the price (USD of course). I liked the set up minus the 3" Body Lift (Only plan on running a set of brand new 33" tires from my Full Size 89 Jimmy), so I thought I'd see about getting a qoute from a more local place. This is the response I recieved:

""
1)Superlift 5.5" lift system with shocks and SuperRunner steering (KITEXP6B-BDS) : 3,200.00

this kit relocates your rear springs over the axle for lifting the rear.
""

Does this sound right? The price that is? I did mention the fact I would like dual shock mounts... But seriously? I didn't even pay that much for my 91 Explorer.

WOW that is really high even with the exchange rate. try another place and keep trying until you get a more reasonable price.
I thought he said the lift kit was $588 US without the super runner steering or extended radius arms. Like $900 something with extended arms etc no steering.

Now that might have included installation. you might ask

I've been to Rocky Mountain, and I believe I saw their posting price to be $890 for a 5.5" 90-94 Explorer with pitman arm, rear axle relocation kit, and it included the longer radius arms.

It does seem a little over the top. Perhaps I'll call them tomorrow. I know of another place around here. The first was North Shore Off Road Centre. I can try Sport Trucks Inlimited and I guess I could try going through Lordco.

Actually... I take that back, I think NSOR and Sport Trucks Unlimited are basically the same company.

Anyone in the Vancouver area know of a good place to go? I've a mechanic who'll do the installation (Allows me to work with him when we work on my truck. I don't have a place to work on it myself) but I'm not in the mood to drop $3,200 period. Not even if it includes installation and something to get around in while it's being driven. Not about to pay more than my I paid for my truck. Simple as that.

Isn't there a 4wheel parts in your area? they sell lift kits and install them also. I seem to recall a 4 wheel parts somewhere in BC

On their webpage, I've only noted US States. If there is one, I'm not aware of it.

I've sent them an e-mail with a URL directing them to the price on Rocky Mountain Suspensions' website. Perhaps they mis-understood my request, or their lift comes with a new truck.

We'll soon find out.
