My New Pocket Digicam...

Since I've started mountain biking again, I wanted an ultra-small digital camera I could "wear" on me to take a few pictures of the trail. After looking at numerous options - and hoping to only spend around $100-$150, I noticed on Sunday that Sears had the Sony camera (model #DSC-U30) shown below on sale for $149.99 (normal price $199.99). I purchased it and - so far - love it!

Below is a quick example of the image quality (although compressed further to post here) from this tiny camera's 2MP imager. I'll post more as I get a chance to get out and shoot...

That quality is actually really good.

Everything looks nice and sharp, and not at all what I would expect to come out of a camera that size.

Good find on that.

Happy trails.

Yeah, I've been very impressed by the image quality as well. As I mentioned, that shot above had even been further compressed (JPEG) in order to fit the 100K posting limit!

The camera takes shots in both 640 x 480 and 1632 x 1224. I'll use the smaller of them the most - don't plan to print any pics. Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking many more shots with this little guy. Below is one more shot demonstrating just how small it is (and I don't have big hands - just fat ones ).
