I just got off the phone with Offroad Warehouse (1-800-341-7757), at Darren's referal, And they DO have a Body Lift. They've modified a Ranger Body Lift, to include steering andle corrections, and bumper relocation brackets! The price quoted me was $132.99. This kit is NOT listed on the web site however, you must call.

He also indicated to me that the '91-'97s have the same Rear Ends, and the '95+s have the same Front End. Does this sound right?

If it is, couldn't we take the Superlift 5.5 rear and the front portion of a '98+ kit?

Hi Nate,
How big is this body lift?

If memory serves me, I believe he said it was the 3" lift. I've got some $$ coming in the end of Aug, so I'll pick it up after I get my Bull Bars.

Thanks, Nate! That's exactly what I'm looking for. I called them, but got the answering machine, left a message. I'll keep you posted as to how my quest to find a body lift turn out!

would the lift fit a 95 2wd explorer sport

Brett,

I'm not sure about the 2wd's, I'd definately give 'em a call tommorrow before they close. I know the arms are different, no torsion bars, etc. I could swear that someone mentioned a 2wd kit for the '95-'97 the other day... Maybe Explorer Pro Comp, or James Duff?

Brettwheelin,
Yes it will definitely fit a two wheel drive. I had it done on my '95 two years ago at ORW. It's the same kit that Nate was referring too...and it's three inches of lift.

Don't quite remember exactly how much labor cost. I think it was about 200-250 bucks for labor, so about 300-350 total.
I think it looks pretty good for a body lift, when I took it took Truckhaven, a couple of guys actually thought it was a suspension lift, so they couldn't even tell.
Haven't had any problems(knock on wood) in the past two years. Only time I took in back in was about a month after they installed it to retorque the bolts, other than that it's been great.

It is a 96 XLT with the 5.0. I know it is not the ideal choice for off road but i have actually taken it on a lot of trails around here. It is all stock and I have made it places that a slightly modified wrangler (2" lift) could not make it. I have found that I really need a little extra ground clearance and I would then be fine. While doing the trails with a number of modified Jeeps I am continuously getting comments of admiration on where I am able to go... even though they all snicker at the beginning of the trail when they say, "your not really taking that out there are you?!" If a suspension lift ever comes available I am there 100% but until then I will make do with whatever options are available.
Thanks...
Brock

If this is a 3" body what would you guess tire size usage to be? Would body combined with tosion twist be enough to handle 33's? With the torsion twist 4 wheel parts told me to go with an adda leaf instead of the shackles... any opinions on that?
Thanks...
Brock

Get used to it. I get those looks all the time until they witness what I can do. I know exactly what you are talking about. It's kinda fun to watch their faces as they watch us show 'em up on the trail....

Here's a link to help. I've got the metric equivalent of 33's on mine with only the torsion lift and a 1" body lift but it took a whole lot of work and trimming, but I have an Eddie Bauer with a lot more to trim than you do. It should be a doable deal but you gotta be willing to do some trimming.

As far as the shackle/addaleaf, use shackles if you like how it rides already, or use addaleafs if you want a stiffer ride or do a lot of towing.

Brett,
My WAAG is still on my Explorer but I only put on a 1" body lift. I don't think I oculd still get it on with a 2"+ lift.

The eurostyle guard you saw is made by Ramsey and called their "Sierra" wraparound brushguard. It is a WAAG that Ramsey modifies to make greatly stronger and then resells. It is quite expensive: you are paying for a WAAG which is expensive in the first place that has been modified by a second company to use to mount their winches on. I think they are $800-900 for Explorers. Your local Ramsey dealer should be able to look it up in their catalog.

Sdmike with the body lift will I still be able to put on brush guards? Because the frame isn't rising at all just the body. Also did anyone see a explorer at the Sema autoshow sponsered by mickey thompson? it had eurobrush guards with a winch mounted on it. It also had diamond plate trim on the sides and roof racks. I'm looking for some info on that.

Lift kit for '95 Eplr purchased!

Nate, the man! Thanks alot, Nate. I bought that same lift kit you opened this topic with. It turns out, it's the lift kit for a Ranger, but everything fits. I will just have to swap a couple of bolts. Mark from Offroad Warehouse was very nice in answering all my questions and convinced me to purchase it. He said it is very simple and anyone with mechanical skills could do it. It is only time consuming and patience is required.
I will post before and after pics and let you all know how my job turn out.

Congrats bullrdr...now you can fit some big fat hogs underneath your '95. I'm getting 33's soon and I have that same lift and the torsion twist...

bullrdr, We'll be wait'n for those pictures. My target date is still early August. In the mean time, I'll just keep grinding away at my rear fenderwells (They're pretty nice and shiny now).

I've got a '99 4x4 and I just ordered the lift from Offroad Warehouse... I can't wait!!!! Does anyone have any hints, tips, or tricks that might be some real time savers when it comes to installing this lift? It should be here within two days... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The links in Geralds reply

I can not access the 2 links that G Jarrett put in his reply (13th in the post). I get a message "Forbidden" message. Any way we can gain access to them? Thanx,
