VERY impressive!!

Looks like you have a little rubbing on the front side of rear passenger fender when compressed. Not like it matters when you're already 4 feet from the ground anyway. :o)

WOW!!!! VERY VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!! I'd like to see this thing in person, I bet pictures do it no justice at all (they never do).

OMG!!!
I printed that pic and showed it to my little X and it shivered and hid in the corner of the garage! LOL
Geez, what a monster!
Mean looking rig though!

Thanks guys,

All I need now is a trailor. A friend of mine and I are trying to buy a truck big enough to pull both our trucks, believe it or not he actually has a bigger truck then I do. So what we are gonna do is buy an older dump truck and convert it into a flat bed with a 5th wheel hookup, then we are gonna get a utillity trailor big enough for 2-3 trucks. Then we are finally gonna be able to explore and go to all the cool events like the moab.

Well thanks again and take care,
Oknut

Oknut - everytime I see that thing I am beside myself! You need to get that down to Florida where the best mud resides and see how you fair - like in the gator swamps! :D

absolutely amazing... If you wouldn't mind, email me with a rough cost to replicate a bad boy like that. Although I think I would get thrown out of my neighborhood - gotta be breakin' some deed restrictions with that!

Oknut, don't do it!! Jon won't even get his lift put on that has been sitting in the garage for ??? long. In fact, Jon is not allowed to inquire about ANY more mods until he completes what he has already started!

Ok, so I'm just ragging him some more about not putting the lift on yet. Dead Link Removed

*sniff*
My feelings are hurt...

Goob's - the goal now is to do the lift by Inverness - not to worry about the tires, gears, lockers, zim mod - and the rest of the thing I wanted to do all at once. I just need some time now!

Hey Jon,

No need to e-mail ya, I will just tell you right in here... I actually live in a little private community where there are lots of old people, but they come up to me and tell me how cool the explorer is..

You know we actually have some killer mud up here. With one plus when u get stuck you don't have to worry about the gators.

Now if I were to build another explorer I would do it a little differently, first of it would be a two door, not a 4 door. And I would have tried to put a bigger engine in it, I don't know how yet, but i'm sure I could find a way. A ford 427 would be pretty sweet.

Now as far as cost, I figure I could build another one for about 10-15k that's after the cost of the explorer. There are so many parts to buy and what kills ya is all the little stuff like bolts and washers. But let's say you were to buy the perfect donor rig you could do it a little cheaper.

All the suspension work that I did actually only cost about 1k. Then the engine was over 4k, rims and tires 2.5k, front and rear end 1k... then you got the bellhousing, transmission and transfercase which I can't remember how it was. And I also put a 4k stereo in it. The exaust cost me close to a k. Now the only reason I could do this so cheap is because I have done most of the work on it myself and with my buddies.

Well all in all it's costly and you better have the time to enjoy it. otherwise it's not worth having, plus you can't be afraid to brake because you don't have the time to fix it..

If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask..

YA BABY!!!!!

Hey Riff,

When the hell are you comming up here to visit ?

heh heh...who knows man....not this summer!!

Oknut,
Thanks for the rundown. It just gives me an idea of $$$ to get where I want to go. I'll end up stopping with 35's (well - this year anyhow) and probably adding Dana 44 axle shafts into the TTB.

As far as th gators go... They keep life interesting - and definitely keep you on your toes! ;)

Jon

Don't you hate it when those boulders just jump right out in front of you?

LOL ...
