Does anyone run a Flex-Lite fan on the 91-94 4.0's?
There seems to not be a lot of room by time you space out fan motor so it don't rub on radiator, and then you get interferance from the stock fan drive hub(threaded part on water pump). Should I machine off the drive hub to get clearnce for the Flex-Lite fan hub? I tried to off set electric fan assembly to clear hub, but there is not a lot of room between the two hubs, only about 1/4". Is this sufficent to allow for engine movement from torque
twist? Any ideas fellow Exploder pilots?

id like to know to about puttin a flex alite fan on a 94 sport. i overheat alot and want a new fan of some sort... thanks

Flex fan does not blow enough air to cool your radiator. The way they advertise it seem like a good way to cool your engine and save some horsepower. It doesn't do what it promises. On top of that, it is very dangerous to have. Have you seen how sharp those things are?

If you already overheating, this won't help you at all.

I'm not trying to use the replacement fan that mounts on the engine. This is a Flex Lite electric fan setup. It should provide plenty of cooling, as it the same fan unit used for a 5.0 Mustang. I thought it would be a good way to cool the engine at slow wheeling speeds as it provides about 2400 cfm of flow when the thermostatic relay calls for cooling.

Oh, Okay. I missed that. Sorry. Everything should be okay then. I heard that brand name is very reliable.

what kind of electic fan are you useing and were did you get it i was wanting to do the same to my explorer

I'm intetest in doing the same to mine, keep us posted as to how it works and if it really works well when wheeling at slow speeds.

I'm also interested in this. Not so much for my radiator, but for my tranny cooler. My tranny overheats a lot.

Man I had Flex-Lite fan on my 65 Impala. Was tightening an alternator bolt one day and slipped.
Hit my wrist on the fan blade.

All I am sayin' is yes they are VERY sharp.
I saw the blood spurt and I was out like a light.

From that day forward I put a thick towel over the fan during the work process.

I have already installed a Derale transmission cooler with a fan. It has an inline thermostat that turns the fan on +180*F, it works great. Check out this link :
