Well, I already posted the final result, just got the camera developed that had the construction pictures on it... Not that interesting, but I had the pictures so I thought I'd post 'em.

I guess I should say painting the frame for this? Before....

After...

Painting old stock sway bars (for sale!!!), spare tire, and priming last rear bumper plastic piece and front license plate holder. Lets just say that when everything was 10 minutes from being completely dry... the wind picked up and *(&#$(* messed up some of the plastic pieces... arg to not having a garage..

So it comes to put on the final coat of paint... I borrow my friend's garage while his parents are out of town. With two space heaters, I dont think that the temp in the garage got above 40*. I know that it is bad to paint then, but I had to get it done.

No real point to this thread... but I had the pictures so I figured I would post 'em.

Nice, very through job.
Nice touch painting the back side and the brackets.

Looks like you hit and killed a newspaper delivery boy here:

But nice work! :D :p

Nice Work!! Your stuff is all over the street :D

section525- I thought that picture was funny too.

You haven't got your alignment yet have you...

Yea... alignment is coming soon... I need to get the camber adjusters put on. I tried to today, but the sockets I have here at school arn't deep enough to take them off... I have to wait till next weekend to go and buy some.

One thing I learned about newspaper... I'm NEVER going to use it again... I'll use a ton of wax paper instead. Newspaper sticks to everything.

My Front Bumper ;)

Ha, I shoulda expected that one coming. I'm still puzzled about the true color of my factory paint... Either it has some discolor, or the label on the side of the door is wrong. My bumpers are noticably whiter then the rest of the explorer...

I'm going to take a clay bar to it sometime soon and see if that makes a difference... hopefully it will.

Oh yea... here is my spare that I painted.

Before:

After (it got dirty before I took the pic).

I dont know what to do about the hook or whatever you call it that it sits on. I think if I chisel the rust off, there wont be anything left lol. Are they easy to replace?

did you paint the tire too? Or did you tire wet it?

man, i love having a warm garage..lol

lookin good..im planing on doing my undercarage soon also!

spray painted the spare... I figured tire shine would only last so long. I used the rustoleum primer + enamel on the rim.

I WAS going to do the entire underbody, but it was too cold. I made good headway on getting some rust off. Anyone know anyway to get rust off besides a wire brush, scraping, or wire brush attachment for a drill?

Wire brush and flapwheels on a grinder work pretty good.
