1991 xlt dies 20 miles after fill up

I'm new here so I hope for help with both protocol and repair. 275,000 on ranger- runs great but 20 miles after filling tank it just dies. for 15-20 seconds it cranks but no fire. after 20 seconds its starts and runs great until 20 miles after next fill up. The 20 miles on trip meter can be within 2 hours or three days - no difference. my mechanic just changed ignition swith - new computer- new fill valve from gas leak. no help

The couple times I've heard about issues like this, it's been bad gas. Either high water content or sediment.

Pump, filter and pressure regulator.
