2002 Sport question.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport V6 4.0L 4x4. My truck has the knob to switch into 4x4 High and 4x4 Low. Can I switch into 4x4 High while driving? It is an automatic transmission. Thanks!

So I can just switch to 4x4 auto, from 2 wheel drive, while the car is moving? Is there a max speed for this? Is there any danger of damaging the transmission? Apologies if this is a noob question, I just bought my explorer a couple of weeks ago, and it's my first 4x4. What about shifting to 4x4 low, any issues with that?

4x4 high is an electrically powered clutch and can be switched at any speed as long as the rear wheels are not spinning faster than the front, THIS CANNOT BE DONE FOR 4 LOW!!!!!!!!!! Stay out of 4 low if you can help it, but if you must the truck needs to be in park and you may have to reverse a bit to get it back into 2 hi, I've never needed 4 low on the street.
