Had to refill reservoir every day to get power to the steering because it leaks bad. Had power steering pump and hoses replaced by mechanic. And it still leaks and no power steering. I know very little about pwr steering. What could it be? Thanx.

The seals on the power steering box go bad over time. Also the fittings tend to leak. I would recommend not using power steering fluid; instead use Ford Type F transmission fluid. These pumps run a lot better and leak much less using Type F, which they were originally designed for.

If you don't have power steering functionality at all, damage may have been done. The steering gear box isn't too expensive for a reman unit. Changing them isn't difficult although the pitman arm can be a challenge to remove if it is seized on the steering shaft. The pump is a bit more expensive but hopefully yours is intact. Could there be a blockage in the P/S lines or an incorrectly installed line?

Thank you for the advice. Appreciate it Arco 777
