Big list, but you know what I bet other than fluids you are probably good for another 100k

I wish - I have a really weird noise at start up at the moment followed by a really faint knocking noise that I'm still trying to figure out. Not too worried at the moment because it only lasts a few seconds at start up and after that it's the same as 10 years ago.
Sometimes I think a sane person would have traded years ago.

Then I remember that I'm not sane so it's pretty much a moot point.

Lol. Is it your header bolts like those v8s get? The money you’ve spent this year is still probably less than a new truck

That's brutal, mine's not nearly as bad as that but if it's any consolation I've had some of the same problems in the past 15K or so,

New battery
Passenger Front wheel bearing (didn't do that myself ~$350)
Alternator
Belt tensioner and idler pulley
All 4 sway bar links (one snapped off while driving)

I'm approaching 110,000 miles and am starting to hear a chirp from one of the pulleys.

  • New roller follower 11/22/17 101500 Ford part - $7.40

If you are a regular you'll remember when I replaced that follower. I have pulled that valve cover again to check on it this morning since it's been close to 4000 since I did it. The roller and cam lobe in question look pretty much the same as they did when I buttoned it up last. So that's good news.
Looking at some of the other followers though I think I may need to replace a few more. It's kind of marginal and I don't really have a good way of telling if they are bad without pulling them out because they are always under tension. Since I don't have the tool I'm reluctant to pull them if I don't have to. Studying the cam lobes I do see a few with 'lines' in them.
I'm considering pulling the plugs so that I can turn the engine over easier by hand while watching everything work. Plugs have been in for about 25K so hopefully pulling them won't be an issue but I'm still nervous about it.
Of course, at 105K it may just be considered normal wear. None of them look as bad as the one I replaced did.
I just looked the old seized one over and noticed that the roller was pitted pretty bad so I guess I can look for that.

So I pulled the plugs - plugs 1,2,3, and 8 were wet with what smells like burnt oil. It's on the part in the cylinder below the threads but it isn't on the electrodes themselves - it stops just short of there and all the electrodes look the same. I'm thinking that the anti-seize that I put on them when I changed them 25K ago just held on better on some plugs than on others. Don't really see how it can be an oil issue if the electrodes are not also wet. I've also looked over all the followers on the passenger side and while some show wear I've been able to determine that all of the rollers are still proud of the cage the right amount and none appear to be seized.
