93 XLT
 Hi Guys, I recently acquired a 93 XLT as a project vehicle. It has some front end damage, but I got a pretyy good deal on it, so I have been putting it back together as parts become available to me (and as my budget will allow) . I thought the body was the extent of the damage, but now I find out there is also some frame damage. I am not sure as to the extent of the damage but my friend who is a mechanic told me I might be better off finding a different frame . From what he said it appears one side of the frame has been pushed backwards and the motor mounts are twisted. Anyway here is my questions: A. Does anyone know about interchangability of chassis parts/ frames/ motor mounts etc. between 1st generation explorers, (91 to 93 in particular) ? B. Has anyone had good experience with shops who claim they can straighten frames ie. quality, price, etc. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum ?Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Bruce.

Most of the time, it can be straightened enough to drive, but will never be right, try to find one with a blown motor, or trans, and swap your good stuff to it, it is hard to get them right again, and parts from a 91-94 should swap out, minor differences.

Do some research of frame shops, i had an entire front clip on mine installed and fenders and hood installed and frame straightened for $1100 all my own parts and no paint.... a friend of a friend owns a body shop... and his shop is in a ghetto shop type only district, but ialways noticed nice cars at the shop, and igot a good deal, so i said, what the heck, and let him do the work..... the original estimate to fix it was about $7500 with new parts.... i got my own parts for about $500 then a radiator for $300 and the work performed for $1100 ... so less than $2000
