Code P0161

Failed NJ inspection with a code of P0161. Can someone tell me what it is?

o2 sensor circut malfunction ie you probably have a bad o2 sensor of broken wires are you sure of the code? becouse that is a eec 5 code but your truck should have eec 4 in 92 as best i can remember

Sorry, this code is coming out of my 98 XLT with a V8, AWD. I believe it is the O2 sensor on the driver side after the cat. Am I right?

Yes it a heater circuit malfunction in the post cat sensor on the driver's side. It could be a wiring issue, or it could be the sensor itself.
