How do I change the cruise control switches on my'97 Explorer XLT? I followed the manual instructions, removed the air bag assembly and exposed the switches and the wiring plugs. I'm not sure how to remove the plugs w/o damaging anything.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 95-01 section. Always remember to disconnect the battery prior to working on the steering column on an air bag equipped vehicle.

If you look at them closely, you will need to contort a tiny flathead screwdriver in to release the clip on one side.

Thx, Joe. That's what I suspected but didn't want to force anything.

They're weird- I pulled countless sets at the junkyard, and always just yanked the connector. Only after the next few pulled the wires off did I look and see that there was a small tab.

Joe,

Thanks again. Have a good day!!
