Now that she can inhale ( KKM ) its time to get to work on the exhalation. I decided to go with a custom system from the cat back.

There are 2 x 2 inch pipes from the cat into the stock muffler. A "Y" pipe was made to exit in 2 1/2 inch. After the stock hardware was cut out of the system, the Y piece was installed. This leads into the muffler followed by a custom bent tail pipe of 2 1/2 inch pipe. The pipe exits straight out the right rear of the bumper.

The sound is a bit throaty as compared to the restrictive stock system. A road test demonstrated what I wanted from this custom job. Between the KKM and this exhaust modification, there is a significant gain in seat of the britches performance. The system is reasonably quiet too.

Road trip tomorrow…

Custom Exhaust

How much did your exhaust system cost? Just wondering. What type of muffler did you use?

My system was installed by a custom exhaust shop. It took them about 2 1/2 hrs to make and install it. The cost was $200. The muffler brand I do not know, sorry.
