Now that she can inhale ( KKM ) its time to get to work on the exhalation. I decided to go with a custom system from the cat back.
There are 2 x 2 inch pipes from the cat into the stock muffler. A "Y" pipe was made to exit in 2 1/2 inch. After the stock hardware was cut out of the system, the Y piece was installed. This leads into the muffler followed by a custom bent tail pipe of 2 1/2 inch pipe. The pipe exits straight out the right rear of the bumper.
The sound is a bit throaty as compared to the restrictive stock system. A road test demonstrated what I wanted from this custom job. Between the KKM and this exhaust modification, there is a significant gain in seat of the britches performance. The system is reasonably quiet too.
Road trip tomorrow…
