Hi,
I have problem with engine start in my Explorer XLT 2002 4.0 V6.
Flow:
1) Engine is cold. Turn on the ignition, START engine -> OK
2) Ride
3) STOP engine. Break 1-2 hour.
4) Turn on the ignition, START engine >> failed. Starter works but the engine does not start. I have to press gas pedal and cranking at the same time - then engine starts correctly. Then in the car smell of gasoline. Probably flooded spark plugs.
What I changed:
-temperature sensor
-camshaft position sensor
-crankshaft position sensor
-fuel filter
-no errors in computer
Unfortunately, it did not help. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem? What else can I check?
Regards, Michal
