Bought my 08 ranger 3.0/6 56,000 mi, new.
Having trouble with the AC, newbie to AC, have done some searching and reading and will post a couple questions.

It appears Ford explorers have a ranger model,

Yes there is a Ranger section here and it probably has answers to your questions but if its an AC issue, the system is common to explorers and rangers so use the search tools
