- 2002 Explorer Sport Trac
Hi Guys,
Good day! I'm a newbie here and just bought an Explorer Sport Trac 2002 with 62thou km reading on it last week. The problem is, when the engine is running in idle, there is a high pitch sound coming from the engine bay. As the engine rpm goes up, the high pitch sound becomes stronger. It's like two tin metals rubbing each other.
I can't figure out exactly where it is coming from but I suspect the belt or the auto tensioner as the possible culprits. I am quite sure it is not from the engine itself.
Any help from anybody would be much appreciated. Thanking you all in advance.
