Just programmed new fob, but....

I have just programmed a new 2 button fob. It locks/unlocks but doesn't activate the alarm. this previously worked. this is the 3 rd fob on the system, if I re programme the new fob will this still count as the 3rd fob or the 4th?

Any ideas why the alarm is not being activated?

when you lock it does the key light flash red on the clocks?

No - when the fob locks the doors the red light is constantly lit, it does'nt do the rapid flash.
