so i recently broke my column shifter and had to replace it, well after dropping the steering wheel and replacing the shifter it wont shift into park or into my low gears. i only have reverse neutral and drive. it is litterally only about 1/4 inch from shifting into park. I am just stumped on how to fix this. if anyone knows whats wrong or how to fix it that would be very helpful. please note that i am NOT talking about the guage that shows if your in park or not i am talking about the actual shifting mechanism. Also, it seems tough to shift in and out of the gears that i do have. Thanks again

Might need to remove the column and inspect it. Couple things to look for.

Look towards the bottom of the column for a cracked cast magnesium ring part. This part is the mechanical interlock that allows shifting.

Make sure the interlock control is hooked up. Wiring to the solenoid.

Make sure the interlock cable/plunger is hooked up.

Remove the upper column plastic casing at the shifter, and inspect the shifter mount mechanic's. Make sure the Pin that holds the shifter is all the way in, or it can jam the shifter from moving full swing.
