I have a 98 explorer 4.0 with a new style slave that has the plastic sleave but there is a metal clip that holds it in. my problem is when I get pressure back on it the line pops out of the slave. the slave is a yr old but when it does it the pedal gets hard so my buddy snapped the linkage off the master. I replaced the master. I know the line is snapping in good or there is no way id get good pedal for a few mins. no leaks it just finally pops out. Does anybody think it could possibly be a worn out clip? I hate to have to drop this tranny over a little problem like this but im havn trouble finding a new clip and poly sleeve basically keeps the line straight on this style I think anyway. it is not the one that ya have to push the white sleeve in to unlock it.
