We just purchased a 97 Explorer UP XLT 4x4
SOHC 4.0 V6
been reading the how to's as much as possible to fix some of the faults I have found.
its hard because in Australia we have bugger all spare parts or explorers being wrecked.
at the moment the biggest issues are the 4x4 hi and low lights flash 6 times, I think I will have to rebuild the transfer case
as everything else in the car works.
the only other issue is the tailgate has cracks around the hinges (The steel tailgate not the glass hatch) so is not sitting quite right.
and the idle is a bit rough(a fast vibration comes through the cab on idle when in drive)
