I understand from what I've been told that I need to replace all 4 tires at the same time because of the 4X4 auto feature. Will different tread depths affect the 4X4 auto feature? I'd like to put new tires on the rear and put the best of the old 4 on the front.
I previously ran an F-150 without the 4X4 auto feature (2D, 4H & 4L). I ran all seasons on the front and snow tires on the rear and never had any problems, other than normal hub wear (wound up replacing the automatics w/ manuals).
Also, if I do the brown wire modification, which from what I understand from posts on this website allows me to disable the 4X4 auto feature, would that allow me to run tires with different tread depths?
Thanks for any assistance.
