So my rocker panels and the rear passenger quarter panel have rust. but kinda ticked me off, but maybe im wrong. the rear quarter panel by the wheel well to about 3 inches maybe 4 away from gas door. not all is rusted thru but i noticed as i was taking some of the molding off i seen inside the quarter panel.. silicone gel. like calk silver, inbetween the outer and inner body panel. so im not sure if thats normal. im kinda sure it isnt, but hey you learn new things every day. so i guess. my next step would be to cut out the rust right? well if i do that could i possibly replace the rear corner panel to some degree with diamond plated steel or however its called. .
and would ny state inspections have a problem with it if i did that?
