1992 eddie bauer
Hi all, I am new to the forum. The serpentine belt in my 92 eddie bauer broke the other day. I replaced the belt and every time I start the car, it makes a squelling noise and slips off. A friend suggested the tensioner pully was bad. I replaced that with a whole new tensioner unit, not just the pulley. That didn't work. Next, I replaced the idler pully with a new one. Still no luck. Its still slipping and I have no idea what the problem can be. I would appreciate any help anyone could offer. Thank you very very much!

Make sure all of the little V's on the belt are in the slots on the pulleys correctly. It's hard to see all of them sometimes, you may need a mirror.

Check that none of your accessory drive components like the a/c comp are frozen. If your last belt broke then you could have a problem like this.
