Towing a Bronco II

Hello from a new member:


Recently purchased a 1989 ford bronco II with auto trans and auto 4WD.

Can I tow this vehicle without any modifications (like driveline disconnect, etc.)? The front bumper has old towbar mounting brackets.

Would appreciate any information concerning this matter.

I do believe Ford does NOT recommend towing that without removing/disconnecting the rear driveshaft.

If you remove the shifter motor on the back of the transfercase, you'll find there is an unmarked neutral position between 4HI and 4LO you can rotate the shaft to. You'd be able to tow it like that however.
