New to your group.
I have done a lot of reading, here, already.
Tons of info. Thanks already
Just got a '98 Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0 awd in nice shape. For cruiser.
My first dumb question. Searching for this is how I found this group.
I must be using incorrect terms.....
On the lower dash.. below steering column .. to right of obd port .. is another port (smaller than the obd port) .. which has a card/key plugged into the port.
The card/key thingie is labeled "Smart Lock" and has a red led lit, on it while inserted. Light goes out when card/key is pulled from port. I have only taken it out with engine off .. key out.
What is this ? Have not found mention of it anywhere. Am I being blind ?
