What type of trans fluid for a 94 xlt auto?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what type of trans fluid for a 94 xlt 4sp auto transmission?
I don't have immediate access to the vehicle, but I need to buy fluid for a trans service.

I didn't have much luck with the search.

Basically its Mercon-III BUT I dont' think you will find it much anymore.. I noticed Autozone only Carries Mercon V in Mobile 1 now.. I'm ASSUMING its a replacment (since manufactures can't license mercon III anymore) but I don't know for sure..

yea, mercon V is a replacement for mercon 3. the atf we sell (autozone ) says ford right on the bottle too. we have ford, gm, and import.
