I slapped this together in a couple hours using 3/4 inch partical board, liquid nail, and 1 1/4 inch staples. Then let it cure with clamps on it before shapeing and sanding. After the box was done, I placed it behind the panel to reference where the sub hole was to be cut. Even a little shapeing had to be done to the inside of the box for magnet clearance. Trim work was also done to the panel itself, to allow the speaker face to come through. Then the beauty ring was cut, and everything installed.

Nice install, though I would be worried about the edge of the metal piece causing damage to the top portion of that surround. I had always though about installing a sub there. Nice job on it.

I was thinking about doing this myself. Do you have any other photos of the box, outside of the pannel, and how do you think it sounds?

I like the remote holder, too!

Well it only has a little 250W amp pushing it, but she thumps pretty good. Nice tight bass hits, like you would expect from a sealed box. It dosen't shatter the rear glass, but mirrors all dance.

Looks great, but when it flexes, doesnt the top of the surround hit the diamond plate?
