Description:
|
2003 marks the 12th year for our company and our product line has continued to steadily grow along with the introduction of new high performance Ford vehicles. From the 1999 Lightning trucks to the 2003 Mustang Cobra, we have spent a great deal of time extracting every bit of available horsepower from our products. Our line of Trueflow inlet pipes have proven to be extremely popular as both a performance enhancing product as well as an appearance item for the "show" crowd. All owners of our previous mass airflow units and kits are able to upgrade to the new inlet pipes as they become available for each new application since they are 100% compatible with our existing products. One product that we are especially proud of is the new Trueflow inlet pipe for the 1996-present 4.6L GT Mustang vehicle. After nearly a full year of development, we are extremely pleased with the final product, and we know that many of our existing modular customers will want to replace their factory inlet hose with this new assembly for both looks and a modest horsepower increase.
You will notice that our main product focus concentrates primarily on high performance Ford vehicles. There are many other applications that our products will apply to, but due to the fact that most of them will only receive a modest performance increase with a limited number of potential customers, we do not actively pursue the sale of products for these applications. We feel obligated to the customer to deliver products that provide REAL and measurable gains where the consumer will get their money's worth. With the advent of the Dynojet dynamometer, our products have been proven time and time again against competing products through independent testing in the major automotive publications. It gives us a great deal of satisfaction when we do business with companies who actively use the dyno to evaluate products and to substantiate our performance claims. We welcome it, and feel that it is an excellent tool to better understand the benefits of our products. We hope that you will find the information contained on this website informative, and that it will help you decide which mass airflow products are right for you and your vehicle.
Sincerely,
Lee Bender

I scored this MAF body from Doug at Bama on his recommendation. He has noticed dyno supported increases with this MAF body so I decided to give it a go.
It's just a MAF body itself. You actually use your OEM electronics from your current MAF. They supply a screw bit (secured torx) to get out the MAF. I still use this bit for MAF cleanings from time to time.
The MAF itself doesn't bolt right up like a stock MAF does (no 4 bolt flange). I attached my filter from my Volant kit right to the MAF body and the weight of the setup is supported by the Volant airbox. Worked great. I had it on my SOHC and there was a subtle difference in response. Not huge, but there.
I also hooked this unit up to my V8 Eddie Bauer. Doug told me to be cautious about using the setup with V8 because he hadn't done any testing, but the volume of the MAF body is so close to stock for the V8 that I went with it anyhow. No adverse effects noted. Nothing much noted. I like the way it works with my modified Volant intake so I'll keep it as is.
Overall I like this mod, but for the money you might be better served elsewhere if you're looking for a seat of the pants increase in performance. You won't see that here.

I dyno tested this MAF housing with my stock Ford electronics on a visit to see Doug Studdard( Bama Chips ).
The C & L showed a 7.5 RWHP improvement over the stock Ford MAF on my truck using Doug’s 89 Performance Tune.
