I'd heard of this harness through the years and never had a need for one before now. I'd used numerous HID kits that always had them included, but I fundamentally changed my HID setup this year when I purchased a projector setup for my 2nd gen, with dual beams (projector for low beam, reflector for high beam). The traditional HID harnesses didn't handle the dual beams as well.
I scored a Suvlights wannabe harness off of eBay for about $20 less than the "real thing". I later found out that Suvlights used to sell this wannabe harness as their own back in the day (Aldive has included a photo of that harness in his original post, and I seem to recall that one crapped out on him). The eBay one I got was of lesser quality. It didn't use split loom (just this yellow wrap that felt real cheap). The connectors weren't as heavy duty and the relays were of lesser quality. To make matters worse, I couldn't get the thing to work for the life of me.
I then ordered the Suvlights harness and night and day difference. The 9007 connectors are definitely beefier and the pigtails on all were longer which allowed me to hook them up much easier. The relays were much more solid as were the battery/ground connectors. Better quality wiring as well. Night and day difference between these harnesses.
Even better, the thing worked first try.
Because I'm using HIDs, it's hard to tell if the lights are brighter. I no longer have the delay with the HIDs firing up that I had without a harness. The high beams seem brighter as well.
I'm very pleased with this harness. I'd like to eventually get a "quad beam" setup (i.e. low beams stay on when high beams come on). I also lost the standard "flash to pass" functionality we have in our Explorers (i.e. lows and highs stay on together when you pull the lever towards you). I'll try and touch base with Suvlights and see if they can help. They offer the "Brite Box" option on some harnesses so I might be able to rig something up.
Service was excellent. They shipped it out within a day of me ordering it (I ordered on a Sunday, it shipped on a Monday). They used to get knocked for slow service. Shipping was reasonable as well. They only charged $12 to ship to Canada using a trackable method at USPS. Not really much in the way of instructions. Just a harness and some zip ties, but this thing is idiot proof to hook up and you can always check their site if you need instructions.
A must have if you're looking for brighter lights or a good relay harness for HIDs (although most HID kits are low only, so it might be overkill), then this is a great purchase. Not a lot of other options out there and Suvlights seems to be synonymous with these harnesses.
