Description:

Excessive heat can cause resins in your brake pad to vaporize or "outgas." As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surfaces and inhibits performance. Here's where Power Slot's slotted brake rotors make a big difference.
Power Slot's exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, our Vac-U-Slot helps push water off the braking surface for better stopping power.

Powerslot definitely makes a high quality item. They're a bit expensive but they seem to be much better than other alternatives out there. I only used mine for a few months before trading in my '00 Sport on a '99 Eddie Bauer. I'll definitely get the rotors in due course my my new ride.
I also had Hawk pads installed at the same time as the rotors. These are the pads Powerslot recommends on their site. It's hard to know which product is better than the other, but I do know braking is greatly improved with these products. You can definitely stop much quicker (don't forget to break these things in as per instructions!). What I really noticed was the smoothness and how even braking was. I come from a mountainbike background and I believe it's called "modulation". Brakes are not supposed to be simply "on or off", but a balance between the two when you depress your brake pedal.
I can't wait to get these units on my Eddie, but the current setup is working fine so I'll wait until they start to show signs of wear.

A very good upgrade, explorers are not the lightest thing on the road so any upgrade to the breaks is a good idea. Powerslot rotors are the best that i have seen.
Only problem i did lock the breaks once, i was in a parking lot driving very hard, **no one should ever drive an explorer that hard**, so it is somewhat understandable.

I just completed my Explorer and my wife's Expedition and what a difference. I went with the Hawk Pads as recomended by Powerslot and so far I am very happy. Wife's Expy had warped rotors and these seem to be the anwser to that factory problem. This is one upgrade everyone should make.

Replaced my stock front rotors with powerslots matched with hawk LTS pads and I must say that they really improved braking performance and pedal feel. I don’t have to apply too much pressure on the pedal when slowing down from highway speeds. No more brake shudders, pulse feeling on the pedal and noticeably lower brake fade. All in all, very satisfied with the product.

I have the hawk pads and the powerslot rotors. They look trick. The cost of the pads and the rotors was as cheap or about the same as generic shop rotors and pads. I figured might as well upgrade.
I saw no real difference between worn out old stock brakes and the hawk/powerslot combo. I could tell things were better obviously but not massively different as you would expect, nor were they any different from when the stock setup was new.
So my review is that these are no worse than stock, they look cool, and they cost the same as generic replacements. So why not upgrade? I think the performance advantage might be in your head, again, as I saw little performance gain. So if you are expecting these to make a big difference you are wasting your money. But if your old setup needs replacing, I'd go with the hawk and powerslot combo before I'd put generic NAPA parts on the truck.

Just installed PowerSlot rotors on my front and back a few days ago, along with the (PowerSlot recommended) Hawk Performance Brake Pads HPS. So far I am very impressed. Stopping power is much improved, and I'm sure I'll notice a difference pulling my trailer as well. Just don't forget to break them in per the instructions. Also, I had a problem finding a local distributor, so I ordered mine from buybrakes.com. They had great prices, free shipping, and were great to work with.
