Pros: Looks great. Better traction on pedals with wet shoes. Solid installation.
Cons: None.

I finally have my pedals installed! There's a bit of a story as to why this took so long. When the pedals that I ordered for my '93 Explorer arrived the new aluminum pedal coudn't be installed on the stock brake pedal using all three bolts. Turns out that the brake pedal on the manual transmission Explorer is different than the one on the auto tranny trucks. Autovation had built their products around the auto tranny truck. When I discovered the problem I wrote Autovation and explained the problem. They took care of things right away and sent me new pedals for both the brake and the clutch (so they would match) The new pedals had the bolt holes installed in the perfect location.

So all is well right? Well... not quite. Most everyone here knows I can't leave anything alone... So I decided that the etched out section of my pedals that says "4x4" needed to be painted orange to match the truck So I painted the whole middle area of the pedal, waited for them to dry and went over them with a sanding disc on an air grinder. It worked perfectly on the first pedal just removing the excess paint and not touching the lettering, unfortunately on the second pedal I got a bit heavy with the sanding disc and blew right threw the etching So... I ruined one of the pedals Thankfully I still had the pedal which could only be installed with two screws... That's the reason for the mis-match in the photos.

Be assured if you order pedals for a manual trans Explorer early model Explorer you'll get the right parts with the bolt holes in the correct location.

Thanks to Autovation for a great product and great service!

Pros: Looks great
Cons:

I love the look and feel of my pedals. I had been wanting to replace the pedals with something nicer, but hated the clamp on style pedals. Since these were bolt/screw on, and they were made specifically for the Explorer's pedals, I had to try them out (not to mention 20% off). They were pretty quick and easy to install. I'd definitely recommend them.
