I purchased this with some skepticism. Can a product really produce a spotless finish on dark paint? The Ploder is Dark Cranberry and a few weeks ago was nicely waxed but now covered in dust filled rain marks with a bird dropping mixed in. I picked the hottest day so far this year, 36C/97F and mostly sunny. I know you should never wash a dark vehicle under these conditions but in the interest of science I decided to give it a try.
The kit comes with 1 filter and 1 bottle of soap as well as the unit itself. The non-filtered stream comes out at a good rate, (not as fast as a regular hose nozzle) allowing good initial coverage and enough power to remove the dropping. Once the soap is selected the flow is cut back slightly but still acceptable and I still used a wash mitt to remove the dirt. Use the non-filtered stream again to rinse the soap away then switch to the filtered spray.
The filtered spray is really a mist and isn't powerful at all. I still had a couple small dropping particles sitting loose on the edge of the hood and the mist took quite a while to roll them off the truck. Once it had dried, which did not take long, I was amazed at the result. There were still some larger spots left which I chocked up to the fact I had to run around the truck like a mad man to keep it from drying and missed a few places with the wash mitt. There were also a few places with extremely tiny spots not noticeable unless close up. Both of these concerns were quickly taken care of with a quick wipe with a polishing cloth. My lawn does slope where I wash the vehicle allowing the water to drain from the roof.
I do recommend this product for a regular wash and will continue to use it, but next time on a normal cloudy day.
Pros: saves shamois time, performs as advertised, not powerful enough to enlarge the crack in my windshield (unlike my regular hose nozzle).
Cons: still require use of sponge/mitt to clean car, not powerful enough for use after playing in mud/clay.

I used this system to wash our Dodge dually. I had enough of towel drying the beast so I thought I would give this a try. To my surprise it provided one of the best finishes I've ever seen on that truck. There were no water spots on the paint or windows when complete.

Expensive soap, expensive filter, short filter life, does not work as advertised
|
|
When I saw this product released a few years back, I had to give it a try. Well, I was mighty disappointed. Despite my generous applications of purified water to remove all traces of soap and suds, there were still plenty of suds. Not only that, with the hard water we have here in AZ, I was only able to get 3 washes out of each filter before the purified water would no longer be pure. The soap and filter are also both expensive, at about $5 each.
Not at all recommended. I'll stick with my Gold Class car wash soap.

i got mine a year or so a go. I do not use it every time. Moslt b/c i work at a gas station and i ring up TEST washes. But on thoses day i need to it is fast lets says ten minutes tops for a wash. If you are muddy or dome thing you will still need to clean it off first i use a high presure not the unit.
The last time i used it the adaptor got stuck on the hose and that is where it stayed i could get it off with vise grips,, but that is the only con i can think of right now.
Edit i still use the factory filter, hell it works i say about 10-12 washes now?

Works well, spotless dry

Cons:

Have to re-purchase filters and soap
|
|
Works as advertised, no need to chamois the vehicle, water just dries off without any spots. Excellent product, the drawback however, is having to purchase filters and soap re-fills a lot.
