Description: This company has retail stores across the country (but not in every state). They have been known for low priced tools, but also sell regular brands other than their own brand. They have all kinds of stuff like bolts, valves, teflon tape, flashlights, tools, etc.
Keywords: Harbor Freight Tools

Pros: Hand tools, supplies, storage needs
Cons: house brand power tools

An excellent tool source for the weekend warrior and hobbiest. I have been buying from the local store for years. Their hand tools are fairly good with a lifetime warranty. Stay away from their house brand "chicago" power tools, they dont last long in my experience. Their supplies are good such as the assortment kits they sell. Their warranty is also good and has been no-hassle for me.

Pros: Low cost tools made in China.
Cons: Not everything is top quality, so you just have to be cautious when you see something too cheap.

I've bought some good, and bad stuff over the years from them. The better tools were a table saw, tile cutting machine, auto lift, electric car jack, and a drill press. The cheap hand tools were average. The assorted parts kits are a good deal. Their product line changes rapidly so they don't always sell what is in their catalogs. Some items could be back ordered, or discontinued even though they may still be printing them. Specifications are not always accurate either. Over all, they are not bad for the money.

Pros: cheap
Cons: you get what you pay for

For tools that you are only going to use a couple of times in your life, this is your place. I have a few tools that I have from HF that have done well, then again, I bought a 110v welder that the on/off switch broke the second time I used it. The moral of the story is, buy the extended warranty on anything over $50.
