I recently stumbled across an ad for www.high-tec-retreading.com in a magzine, so I thought I'd go see what they had. Turns out, they sell retread mud tires, at very good prices. The set I got were $65 a piece with $20 shipping, which is about as much as michelin charges for my dads tires. (shipping, I mean) I only have the rears replaced, as I'm working off of $7/hr and college, but even those mad a big improvement over the Uniroyal Liberators. The tread is very aggressive, and it bites in very well. Cleaning is excellent, too. The rubber seems a bit soft, so I don't know how well they will hold up in the long run, but they do break loose a lot less on the pavement. Since my exhaust was fixed last week I can now hear the tires and if you dont want loud ones, stay away. These tires are very loud, but look at the voids. You can't expect that to be quiet. Another thing I should mention is that the ride is noticably smoother than it was with the Liberators. I will definatly be getting a pair for the front, and I highly recomend these tires to anyone on a budget, or who just doesn't want to spend $150 a tire.
