Description: This is a very versatile sport utility vehicle. In it's stock form, it handles well on road, while handling and performing good off road. The vehicle is spacious, yet not large. Comes standard with Ford's 4.0 OHV engine, which is a solid engine and runs a good long time.

Pros: Very durable, handles well on and off road
Cons: Gets poor mileage, but what do you expect from a truck.

This vehicle, has served me well for many years. I just had to do this product review, because the explorer had not had a review written about it yet, somehow. It handles well on and off road, very durable, and also is spacious for a 2 door vehicle.

Great little vehicle, either as a winter beater, or your DD.

There's a place I know about, where the dirt road runs out, and we can try out the 4 wheel drive..come on now, what do you say?
I've got the perfect place in mind, it's in the middle of nowhere, only one way to get there, you got to get a little mud on the tires.

Pros: As stated handling is good and the motors are very dependable
Cons: It doesn't have a standard full-time 4X4 high option it only has 2wd, 4X4 Auto and 4X4 Low

The vehicle has good power, the 4X4 auto is nice for just normal driving for traction assist but would have been helpful if they would have offered full-time 4X4 high option, but a simply mod fixes that problem. I think the 4X4 is really good. Gas mileage averages about 19 MPG. It does make a good daily driver if you don't have to drive too far to work everyday.
