Pros:
|
ease of use and great for multiple trailers and excellent for the explorer suspension.
|
|
Cons:
|
dirt can easily get on to the worm gear...you need a lock as it draws alot of attention.

I needed an adjustable drop hitch for towing a trailer behind my X...I found this one by chance on sale for $49.99 (normally $64) at Kragen, and i got it's matching 2"x1" threaded ball($11.99)...
...It is rated 5000# trailer wt. and 500# tongue wt...It easily adjust with either a 3/8" ratchet, a 7/8" socket, or a 7/8" wrench....it adjust from 7 3/4" drop to 6 1/4" rise and the e-z adjust feature is always on top...
...This item is great for using with different trailers and it has numbered hatch marks for readings either up or down, in fractions...This is also great for leveling empty trailers and to also level a trailer out after it is loaded...
...The maintenance is applying grease to the easily accessable worm gear and a drop of oil for the adjusting nut...
...I also elected to get their matching "one tool torque" 2" ball which has a notch in it to mate with a pin on the drop hitch which keeps the ball from spinning and let's you tighten the ball with one tool...
...I would highly recommend this to anyone trailering with an Explorer...
