Bought this tool at RadioShack because I'm not very good when it comes to wire stripping. If I don't cut through the wire completely, I end up stripping just one side of the insulation off. This tool made the install go a lot smoother and faster, and kept wires from being cut and becoming too short.
The only pitfall is its bulkiness. It isn't real bad but if you're in a real tight space it could be difficult.

These wire strippers work great! I dont use anything else anymore now that I have these.
The cheaper pliers however do not work as good as the more expensive versions. Generally I have found if they are $12 or over they are good, skip the ones under $10, they dont release as well.

Didn't work for me as advertised

After using cheapo wire strippers for years, I decded to give this one a go. I simply didn't find it to work as advertised. I then resorted to getting a traditional design, but this time I got from the "Channel Lock" people. Best stripper I've ever used and the cutter and crimper work equally well.
Keep it simple and get the Channel Lock. It may cost more than cheapo strippers, but it works.
I recently saw the Kronos offering in a bargain bin in a Surplus department at a local automotive store (Princess Auto). Enough said. They also started carrying the Channel Lock model. I think they saw the light as well.
