Description: TRUE-REV SPORT INDUCTION ™ Your stock intake was designed to be as quiet as possible, even if it meant sacrificing performance. The True-Rev Sport Induction kit allows your engine to breathe more air by eliminating all of the power robbing restrictions associated with the stock system, resulting in more horsepower, crisp throttle response, and the sport sound you are seeking. This is a complete kit that replaces your stock airbox.

All models with a removable MAF style airbox receives a serviceable S&B Powerstack filter, precision machined aluminum air filter adapter, mounting bracket, all hardware and instructions for a complete and easy bolt on installation.

04-UP Explorer kits address the issue of an integrated MAF airbox and comes with the same S&B filter assembly and adds a complete CNC'd 6061T6 billet aluminum MAF housing to accept the stock airbox sensor electronics.

Pros: open cone intake
Cons: incomplete - no intake tude

This "intake" is just a cone filter and a MAF adapter; no intake tube is provided.

Far superior to stock, however, a complete intake such as Mac, Volant, K & N is a far better choice.

Pros: Greater airflow than stock.
Cons: Can contaminate MAF

The KKM airfilter is a high quality oiled cone filter. However like any oiled filter there is the potential of contaminating the MAF with oil residue. This can be avoided by waiting several hours after oiling the filter before you start the engine. This give the oil a chance to absorb into the filter media.

Pros: easy install, fast shipping, delivers what is promised
Cons: slight whistling noise around 2K-2.5K RPM

i love my KKM, great tone, the install was easy and logical, the pickup is definitely there, no more bogging down, passing is a breeze, and the great sound i get at around 3 thousand RPM is certainly a plus, my only problem is a slight whistling noise around 2000 RPM, but it is so shortlived that i dont even really notice it anymore. so basically if anyone wants a good, solid, easy mod this is the way to go.- andy

Pros: sounds good, slight performance increase
Cons: tight fit near fusebox, no intake tube

I like my KKM, it is a nice kit for the price. The only downsides is that it is a very tight fit up against the fusebox in my Explorer and when installing it the stock gasket ripped slightly, it would be nice if they included a new one. It would also be nice to get a new intake tube to finish the installation but it is not necessary. I use an Outerwears Pre Filter on mine which helps keep the dirt out.

Pros: Better Torque, HP and MPG; It probably pays for itself in less than 6 months
Cons: Happy to have a custom intake for a first Gen Explorer. Still, the set up absorbs a ton of engine heat (intake's few metal surfaces get burning hot to the touch after driving for a while) and you need to swap back to OEM for emissions in some locations.

Much better Torque/HP. And with this KKM Intake, I recently averaged 25mpg on a 400 mile roundtrip trip to North Carolina, too! (Cruise set at 65mph and trip was in a First Gen. 4dr Explorer EB with manual Warn hubs, KKM intake, Edelbrock muffler/cat back, and Jet Chip). I estimate the KKM intake was worth about 2-3mpg in additional highway mileage
