Pros: Quick paint, rust, coating removal while leaving metal intact
Cons: A bit expensive

Need to remove paint, coatings, or just about anything from steel to prepare it for painting or welding? Don't want to grind away any metal with a sanding disc? This is the tool you need!

I have only used the 3" green discs for metal work. They last fairly long. I would say longer than 3" sanding discs by a long shot.

Only draw back is they aren't cheap. I buy them on ebay for $39 for 5, occasionally I can find a better deal.

Pros: long lasting, doesn't take away metal,
Cons:

i have used them on aluminum too, they are great for taking off the powder coat on a lower unit,, (boat motor drive ),
but not messing up the aluminum,
