Amprobe PM55A Automatic Precision Pocket Multimeter. The ultimate shirt-pocket sized meter!
Only 3/8" thick, and less than 3 oz in weight with full functionality offering AC, and DC voltage to 600 V, AC, and DC current to 2000 μA, resistance to 6 Megohm, capacitance to 2000 μF, frequency to 30 kHz, diode test, and continuity w/beeper.
It also offers VolTect,™ a built-in, non-contact voltage detector for AC voltages.
Another key feature is AutoTect,™ which automatically selects between AC voltage, DC voltage or resistance measurement based on the test point to which the leads are connected. Fully autoranging, this meter offers nine different measurement functions plus features that are usually found in much more expensive, and larger meters.
The digital display is oversized with large digits, and unit icons in the display. In spite of its size, this meter is fully safety rated to CAT III 300 V, CAT II 600 V, and is UL listed. No other meter this small offers such performance, and high safety ratings. Includes a silicone protective holster, deluxe carrying case, attached test leads, CR2032 lithium battery, and manual.
AutoTect™ feature directs the meter to know if it is measuring AC or DC Volts or Resistance with no user interface.
The AutoTect™ feature has lower input impedance which zeros out ghost voltages.
Measures AC/DC Current, Capacitance, Frequency, and Continuity with beeper.
VolTect™ feature is a built-in, non-contact voltage detector.

The test leads appear to be a little fragile looking but haven't been troublesome as of yet.

This meter is easy to use, small, lightweight, easy on battery drain, and has fully automatic testing capabilities. You turn it on by holding the button, then apply whatever you're testing to its leads, and the meter will automatically select the proper setting (example: connect a watch battery to it, and it will select a DC voltage range). You could touch the main button, and it will lock that function, so if you disconnect the test leads, it will go back to the DC voltage range again. It has a dial to manually select the range you want if you choose not to have it automatically select the range. The larger meters have removable test leads, but this one has them connected directly to the meter. The battery is removed by opening the rear of the case with a small screwdriver. This meter is sold under different names such as Meterman, Amprobe (Meterman was merged with the Amprobe company), and Fluke. Greenlee makes a copy of the PM53 which is a model below this one.
