Pros: Good sound overall. Not too loud.
Cons: Cabin drone at certain revs in SOHC

I scored this muffler after being very disappointed with a Magnaflow I had installed on my old SOHC Sport for a few weeks. The Magnaflow had a very "inconsistent" sound. It was good at some revs, but sounded like crap at others. Highway drone was almost unbearable.

This Flowmaster was much better. My Ex had an aggressive sound and was much more consistent. I still had some cabin drone was it was bearable for a long while. I eventually got tired of any drone and had a Flo-Pro resonator installed. Inside drone was pretty much eliminated and it didn't tone down the outside rumble that much.

I've heard the drone issue is less pronounced on 4 door versions of the Explorer. FYI, I had 2.5" pipes from the cats back with this muffler.

Pros: sound
Cons: none

I can feel the difference from stock.. sound is about perfect. stock cats into it, single 3.0 out, to custom duals. 2000 v8 awd. slight resonance at 55mph, but very bearable. i had a glaspack, and a MAC at one point. they dont even compare.

Pros: great flowmaster rumble
Cons: not very loud, price

I had this muffler for about a year. It came off of a parts explorer I bought. It was really quiet until about 3,000 rpms then it had an awesome tone to it. This is a great muffler if you want something that you can hear when you get on it but quiet at cruising rpms. I put a 40 series on after the rust got the better of the exhaust piping... figured it was time for an upgrade!
