Description: The 70 Series "Big Block II" uses a large case for increased volume and added sound reduction that will still fit many applications that our 50 series "Big Block/HD" muffler won't fit. It utilizes Flowmaster's patented "Delta Flow" technology for maximum efficiency and reduction of interior resonance. Use on high performance street cars, trucks, SUV's, RVs and tow vehicles. Constructed of 16 gauge aluminized steel and fully mig-welded for maximum durability.

Pros: Quiet, noticeable increase in performance
Cons: Heavy (I don't know how it compares to others)

It was exactly what I was looking for. Performance without the noise.

Pros: Peformance boost
Cons: could be quieter

I bought this based on aldives expereience and recommendation. It's queiter than what I had on, but not quite as quiet as I hoped. Combined this with the dynomax 2.5" mandrel bent tail pipe w/ chrome tip, and I'm very happy overall

Pros: Quiet, Subtle Performance Tone, No Drone
Cons: Nope

I chose this muffler based on good reviews by Aldive, but also from hearing it from sound bytes on youtube. I could not be happier with this choice. I had it installed on my 1999 SOHC V6. I had it welded in place of the stock muffler, keeping my stock pipes and resonator. I think it's one of the best sounding mufflers for this engine. It's not too loud, or obnoxious, and really only gets loud when you step on it. And even then, it never sounds in the least bit ricey or raspy. It has a deep, bassy, performance tone with a good throaty rumble that is always subtle and doesn't get in the way. It has absolutely no drone when cruising, a big plus for a chambered muffler of this type. This mod has been probably the most effective at increasing my gas mileage. In city driving, even with conservative driving habits, I would consistently return 15 to 15.5 mpg. Just today, I filled up the tank after tracking my mileage since my last fillup and got 17.3 mpg with all city driving! (Going back and forth to school, work, etc.). To say the least, I was very pleased with the improvement, and I know it is attributed to the muffler, which I just got last week. I'm sure it'll sound great on the 5.0, I mean what doesn't? But if you're on the fence about whether to get this muffler for your SOHC and it sounds like it fits the bill, trust me, just get it!
