All of the mounting hardware and the hardware to bolt this box together, are included, and are stainless steel. The top and the bottom are both recessed to hold the battery better, and each side has two 1/4" bolts on the top and on the bottom to make sure the battery stays were you put it. This battery box has a brushed finish. As you can see the top has a great looking Plain design, and the bottom has the WCM logo of Wieland Custom Machine. Pros: Finishes off your engine bay, works well, great service
Cons: none

I scored an Optima red top last summer. The Walmart auto place where I got it installed using the wrong "wedge" piece that comes with it (using the GM piece instead of Ford). The battery was never quite cinched down properly and caused a "clunk" often. It took me ages to identify the source of the clunk (I thought it was my front end and spent a lot of $$$ trying to solve). I went back to Walmart, got the right wedge and clunk was gone.

Nonetheless, I thought the battery looked a bit "unfinished" in my engine bay. The Optima is much smaller that OEM and it just sort of sits there in the middle of the battery compartment. I looked into a pile of these Optima battery hold downs on eBay (seems to be the only place to find them) and decided on Wieland. They seemed to have the best prices and a decent selection of designs. I went with their "plain" version (no logo).

At the end of the auction I heard from seller right away. (I decided not to use Buy it Now and saved about $10 as a result). They shipped right away and I got it in no time. Excellent instructions and pretty much a no brainer to install. No need to use the hardware they supply to cinch it into the battery compartment (which would require some drilling). I knocked the Ford wedge off the battery, installed the battery into the hold down and just cinched it in place with the OEM bolt that I was using with the wedge. I should have tried that first because I did try and drill some holes and that was a hassle. The battery hasn't budged since (about 3 months now).

These things are a bit expensive over all, but they really work and look good under the hood. Great seller too.
