2020 Explorer ST
Stunning!! I think the 2020 Explorer just fell off my list of next possible vehicles.

Twin turbo V6 and first to offer the option to have your smart phone be your key.

Is there any real information about whether this will be on the explorer platform? It looks like they are getting away from the three-letter names, so will this get the MKT off the market?

I saw that this morning on a site that showed 21 slides of the vehicle. Very disappointed with the interior design. I think the Nautilus interior is much better, in my opinion. When I first saw the back end, it reminded me of the current Flex. I hope the suspension makes up for the 22 inch wheels. Just hope the 2nd row seats are more comfortable than they look. Not sure where they hid the front/rear cameras. Will still want to see it in person before taking it off my shopping list.
Preview: Lincoln Aviator

The only way I'd like the tablet display is if it were a docking removable tablet running Android. Otherwise, it doesn't look like it makes sense.

Are those seat controls on the door? And where are the interior door handles? Is that the push button start, next to the tablet on top of that part of the dash? That seems weird.

I saw this and/or the upcoming Explorer in full camo yesterday in AZ as the size and shape seemed about right.... so it's close.

That's what I thought as well. Not sure why Lincoln seems to be using push button transmissions in their newer vehicles. It seems I recall seeing that system in the Edsel when it came out.

Be on the Explorer platform? This is the first of the new CD6 platform. Many vehicles are moving to this platform including the 2020 Ex.

The ex as stated on here before is still unibody. Little wider, little longer, still looks similar in lines to the current Explorer and will be back to RWD/AWD.

The floating display allows for a bigger screen than if it was contained in the dash. Lincoln has used the push button drive select now for a couple of years and it is a throwback to the 50's. I like it as it cleans up the space, but takes some getting used to, especially going from my explorer to the wife's mkc. I just want to know power and pricing, although it is comforting to know it will be around the price of a Audi qx7.

It should be noted that the Avaitor shown is a concept not production version. But based on what they did for the Navigator, production won’t be much different than the concept unveiled today.

It isn't a concept. It is a production preview. In Lincoln's own words:
Aviator glides into New York this week, offering a preview of The Lincoln Motor Company’s newest vehicle along with a glimpse into the brand’s future, which is moving toward a broader portfolio of utilities and electrification in conjunction with effortless services.

As more consumers choose the spaciousness and capability of SUVs, Lincoln unveils Aviator, a distinctive three-row plug-in hybrid production preview. The “teaser” model serves to preview the direction Lincoln plans to take with its newest SUV when the production model goes on sale next year.
A concept vehicle is usually several years before a production model and is used to gauge reactions and test design elements. This is a production preview which indicates that it is probably 90%+ complete on design with only certain things pending (either lifecycle testing or regulatory concerns). They might also have certain things that need slight modification for the production line.

True, I just wanted to point out that as comments were being made in this thread about certain features of the Aviator that was shown, to keep in mind some things, probably minor design elements, could change.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the iPad style infotainment screen being done away with myself...

it's the 2019 Aviator not 2020

No it isnt, it will be a 2020 model year.
No. Sorry. It will be a 2019. I was just at the dealer today picking up my wife's 2018 Escape and the manager should me it from the info he has because they will have a booth at the NY auto show and if you look at the video attached to this thread you will also hear the man showing the Aviator saying the it will be released next year 2019 Not as a 2020 model

It comes out next year as a 2020 model hence the 2020 Aviator. I know someone at CAP, it is a 2020.

You will not see dealer inventory till late summer of 19 to fall time.

This pricing the gentleman mentions in his segment is pretty low if true in 45k plus range. I hope the Explorer ST 2020 get a nice redesign. I guess it should be showing up soon out there ! Do you have any info on that ?

It was mentioned that it will be priced between the Audi Q5 and Q7. The base prices start at $41,500 and $49,900 respectively for those. A Q5 tops out at $57,325 and a Q7 tops out at $88,225 (prices do not include the $975 destination fee). The MkX starts at $39,035 and tops out at $66,210 in Reserve AWD 2.7T trim (with destination, Black Label adds another $3700). So my guess is that the Aviator is going to start out around $47,000 and top out around $70,000 to $75,000 in Black Label depending on what they make standard and what is available as an option.
