So looking at new tires since I ended up with the Michelin latitude HP on my 2017, I want something more aggressive for winter. I saw all the posts on here about types and changing sizes. So I called my local tire dealer asked them if they had any suggestions based on tire size (OE) and he mentioned that if I would change sizes, from 245 to maybe 255 that I would void my warranty. Has anyone heard this or dealt with this? I called the dealership and they only referred me to the hotline to call.

Hi John. Do you know what warranty he was referring to? If it is the OEM 3yr/36k warranty then that is not so. If a certain part fails and it is determined it is because of a non OEM or modified item then only the part will not be covered. The OEM warranty itself remains in place. On another note, if you were looking at getting Winter tires, I don't know why they suggested a wider tire. You would really want the same size or a narrower tire. A narrower tire is better for driving through snow and slush.
Many members, including myself, use a dedicated set of Winter wheels and tires. I do it for better traction and safety, others do it to preserve their OEM wheels from the stuff they put on the roads. If you are not looking at dedicated Winter tires, why not have a look at All Weather tires. Not to be confused with All Season tires. They can be used year round and carry the Winter tire certification 'Snowflake'. I have OEM 20" wheels/tires and run 18" wheels/tires in the Winter.
See pages 237 and 318 in your Owner's Manual.

Exactly what Peter said. if you are going with a snow tire, I'd get dedicated rims and tires..

Get dedicates rims/tires. Upsizing or downsizing isn't going to bother anything, just keep the overall circumference the same to save you some sanity on the speedometer. My winter wheels are a tiny hair off -- like Peter, I run 20s in the summer, 18s in the winter. Warranty has never been a question to that regard.

Winter incentive package came with 245/ 60R 18 snows and the steel interceptor wheels.

Are you sure they were the Interceptor wheels? The ones I saw at my dealership had steel wheels but they definitely were not the 5 spoke Interceptor ones shown in my link above. They were more like the ones you get at Canadian Tire. The Interceptor costs more than the typical generic ones

I'm sure, Ford logo stamped on the side. High quality with high gloss paint, not at all like Crappy Tire which rust after one season.

I was looking up those rims and I thought they would be cheap being steel, nope the cheapest I saw was 269 a rim....but thanks for the suggestions, i'll keep looking, I may get a different set of tires for winter based on my stock rims and then save up for a "fancier" set for the Michelins....not sure yet.

Yes, big price difference as I mentioned. There are some members close to the border that have driven across and bought the wheels here and took them back home.
