3 weeks in my driveway... 4 weeks at the Ford dealer

We still have this setup. The 4x4 Ram/Cummins has 200k on it now. We bought it new and it's still going strong. The Lance camper has been great for my wife and I and two dogs. We've been on long vacations with it and have often sat in it saying "I can't believe we are sitting in the bed of a...

3 weeks in my driveway... 4 weeks at the Ford dealer

Your'e right about the RV manufacturers and their own warranty. I can do all the RV repairs. I just wanted the peace of mine of having a brand new drivetrain to deal with and a factory (Ford) warranty. So lucky with our ST. 45,000 miles and it's never been back to the dealership for anything. I...

3 weeks in my driveway... 4 weeks at the Ford dealer

We got so lucky with our 2020 Explorer that I felt confident buying a Ford based RV. You just never know who is going to get the short straw. :(

3 weeks in my driveway... 4 weeks at the Ford dealer

What makes matters worse is that the lemon law does not apply to this type of vehicle in AZ. I am now at Ford's mercy. :banghead:

3 weeks in my driveway... 4 weeks at the Ford dealer

We bought a 2024 E450 based RV. It threw a CEL for evaporative emissions. After 4 weeks at Ford they thought it was going home with me today. Unfortunately they cleared a code that came up when the engine was warmed up, but it is now throwing a code when it runs through its self test when it's...

Oil catch can on higher milage ford

The more blowby the engine makes the more oil the can will collect. I wouldn't hesitate to add a catch can at this point. I don't recall the brand I used on my ST, but it was a direct fit and an easy installation. Any catch can that is made for your specific application would make life easier...

New garage at the Horwitz house

Can't get rid of it, I may need it one day. Cleans garage and dumps boxes of stuff. Two weeks later... Dang I knew I shouldn't have gotten rid of that widget, now I have to buy a new one!

    Off to the dark side...

My Ram is averaging about the same mileage. It's' a 2003 and it just hit 200,000. The 7000lb Ram gets better mileage though. ;)

    Getting ready...

Yes any '94 will work. In fact you can use newer engines as well and just swap your manifold and sensors over. From what I recall the heads will bolt up as is, they are just have smaller combustion chambers which will make more compression and could cause you to need to run premium to keep it...

    New Ford Pass App

I figured out why the map is black. I have always used dark mode with my phone. Ford Pass is the only app which has an issue with it. I switched out of dark mode and the proper map details are visible. PITA. Dark mode is much easier on my eyes. Ford should make the app play well with dark mode...

Rough Idle/Stall_Possible MAP, lots of codes.........its seized.

Yes it is an interferance engine. Valves will contact pistons if timing chain breaks or goes out of time. The pistons are aluminum. If you're lucky only the valves will be damaged not the pistons. Here is a thread describing the timing chain replacement. Obviously you will have to go farther to...
