I'm preparing for a SAS in my '91 Explorer. The HP Dana 44 I bought has 3.50 gears in it. Will I need to buy another carrier for aftermarket brand 5.13s or do the maufactures account for the carrier break/change?

Also, will the OEM front driveshaft u-joint mate to the Dana 44 yoke or will it need to be changed?

Also x2, the drag link(steering rod) on my Dana 44 setup came with a hydralic dampener. There was also a hydralic cylinder attached to the housing and the tie rod. Is this OEM stuff or aftermarket?

thanks.

Rob

Yes, you will need to get a new carrier.

The yoke will match up if it's a 1310 series yoke, but if it's the larger 1330 series yoke you'll need to get a 1310.

The dampener was factory.
