I have a 04 ST with a Big Country grille guard that looks sweet!
I really want to buy the PA 3" BL for my truck, the only thing is i dont want to lose my guard! I have been reading the threads for months now (recently became a member) and have found a few threads w/ solutions to my problem. I know the mounting brackets have to be modified, but is it necessary to trim the bottom bumper? I do not have the plastic cladding like most ST's do, i have the matching cladding (body and bumpers are same material/color) Now is it possible to trim that material? If i get the lift, is it possible to keep the guard?
Any input is appreciated, thanks!

That'd be where he's at... Modified 02-05... He wants the SPORT TRAC SPECIFIC section..

It depends on the particular grill you have (I'm unfamiliar with yours) and how the brackets you fabricate are made. I only cut my front bumper to fit the tow hooks because I couldn't do without them. The brackets I made would have allowed mounting the brush guard without cutting the bumper.

Any pictures?

The forum you want to be in is here, though:

Yeah idk why I said that. I meant 95-01. I thought that's where his model sport trac went.

We do have a lot in common with the '95-'01 Explorers and I find probably as much, if not more, useful information in that subforum as in the actual Sport Trac forum. For this situation he'll probably find better information in the ST forum or finding Sports that have had a similar issue since we're practically identical from the front doors forward.

Yeah i thought they shared a forum or something lol.

Whatever!

As long as I know how to get to that uhhh... modified 02-05 section I'm good lol

We're the most misunderstood Explorer. :(

That may be but I have buddies that say Damn I wish xxxxx would make this more like a st.
Especially the luggage rack

Much more "lift able " than a third gen too. Be happy about that. I hate that fact there's no market for lift kits for us. Aside from spacers.
