We get many questions on these kits as information is scattered so we will open this thread for discussion which will hopefully help out new members.

Available for 2011-2015 Explorers this smart phone app allows users to Lock, Unlock, Start, Stop and Locate their vehicle from almost anywhere in the world.

- Available for Android and iphone devices

- Online access also available here

- Simple plug and play no splicing installation in under 20 minutes

- *No dealer visit required, If you buy from us we will activate it for Free over the phone
(*for Ex's without factory rem. start dealer initialization will be required via the IDS tool)

- Available for U.S and Canadian owners

- Parts costs are approx 460.00 if VSS (vehicle security system) is required, Less if not

- App requires a 50.00 annual fee for service

The RMU's (remote access unit) can be found here:
U.S Version - http://www.levittownfordsupercenter...mote-start-system-cellular-access-p-2270.html
Canadian Version - http://www.levittownfordsupercenter...art-system-cellular-access-canada-p-3021.html

To determine if your vehicle is already equipped with the necessary VSS a simple test of the shock sensor can be performed by following these steps:
1) Enter the vehicle then lock it using the key fob
2) Wait at least 20 Seconds for the system to arm
3) Tap on the steering wheel with moderate force

If a warn away horn chirp is heard then the VSS is already equipped, If not then you will need to add the VSS which is found here http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/ford-explorer-vehicle-security-system-p-1881.html

What stops this from working in other countries besides USA & Canada?
I'm guessing the subscription server is located in North America and it probably relays the cellular signal so there would be expensive roaming charges or something?

It does have to do with the cellular carriers available and cellular platform we are told.
